John B. Anderson is the managing partner of the firm. John, a native of Sioux City, attended the University of Iowa where he graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science. John then attended the University of Iowa College of Law where he graduated in 1960. John became a member of the Iowa State Bar Association in 1960 and began practice with the firm that year.

John's primary practice areas include estate planning, wills and probate; real estate; and business/corporate law. John has considerable experience assisting clients in developing their estate planning, and assisting personal representatives and trustees with the administration of estates and trusts. John also has considerable real estate experience including preparation of documents, abstract examinations and like-kind exchanges. John also represents clients who are starting businesses, buying existing businesses or selling their business.

Throughout his career John has been active in local, state and national professional associations. John is a member of the Woodbury County Bar Association, the Iowa Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He served as President of the Woodbury County Bar Association in 1978. He has been active in the Probate Section of the Iowa State Bar Association having previously served on the Executive Council. John is also a member of American College of Real Estate Lawyers and is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Council. He is also a member of the Siouxland Estate Planning Council.

John also has had the opportunity to serve on the boards of many Siouxland area nonprofits and associations including Sunrise Manor Retirement Home, Siouxland Community Blood Bank, Goodwill Industries of Siouxland and as Past Chairperson of the Board of St. Luke's Regional Medical Center.

John and his wife Joy have two children, Bruce and Julie, and six grandchildren. In his spare time John enjoys golf.
